On April 18th, nearly 300 revelers celebrated at Eat, Drink, & Be Married! at the Four Points by Sheraton in Meriden, CT. Additionally, another 90 businesses, churches, and organizations showed their support for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender equality by advertising in our program book. Together, we netted over $29,000 for Love Makes a Family! Thank you all! The funds raised have already been put to use on the intensive advocacy efforts related to last week's passage of the marriage codification bill. In addition, funds will be used to continue our work this legislative session to lobby on the transgender anti-discrimination bill, as well as new work to lobby our state Congressional delegation to help repeal the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).
