The Love Makes a Family Political Action Committee has endorsed 54 state legislative candidates for the November 4 General Election.
LMF PAC is dedicated to supporting candidates who support marriage equality for same-sex couples and who oppose discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender residents of our state.
In making its endorsements, the LMF PAC sent questionnaires to every candidate in Connecticut running for state representative and state senator. They gave preference to incumbents who have stood with the group in support of marriage equality and transgender rights, and opted not to endorse in “open seat” races where both candidates are 100 percent pro-equality or where neither candidate has returned a questionnaire seeking endorsement.
“Everyone knows the importance of the current presidential elections, but many people are unaware of the urgency and implications of Connecticut’s local elections,” said LMF PAC’s chairperson, Anne Stanback. “We urge Connecticut voters to make informed decisions and support candidates who stand for justice and equal rights for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people.” They endorsed candidates include:
